Last weekend, March 11–12, for two days, I was involved in training to become a Registered Scrum Master. Though I have been practicing Agile for more than a decade, I wanted to polish my knowledge, learn from other people’s experiences, and collect fresh insights.
Each day we started at 9 AM and did until 5:30 PM (taking smaller breaks and a lunch break in between). We were 12 of us who enrolled for the training. At the end of the training, everyone felt it was quite enriching. However, here, I would like to talk about other things that I observed while taking the training.
- Most of the attendees were quite younger than me (please don’t ask my age 😛). – Youngsters are more aware and know what they need.
- Some of them were sponsored by their office, but the majority of them paid themselves for the training. (Considering the fee and substantial amount of time required for this.) – People are realizing the value of the right investment.
- All of us were eager to learn and grow. – Openness to learning is a superpower one should have to grow in today’s world.
This made me quite optimistic about how the youngsters in our tech community are proactively working to grow. These youngsters will grow in their careers and reach in higher levels, but in the process, they will embrace and implement the culture of exploration, working as a team, and, most importantly, openness to learning.
